- We open and manage so called preparatory, informal schools, for the poor, not scholarised children in urban areas. Our purpose is to let them join, as soon as possible, an official school near their home.
- We open and manage kindergarten and primary schools agreed by the local authorities which teach the official curriculum, in the rural backward areas where no schools are available. Our purpose is to allow our pupils to continue later their studies at the secondary level.
- We offer to our pupils and old pupils, as to children enrolled in other school units:
- orientation advice on schools and professions
- a follow-up of their studies
- rehearsal and tuition in the parts of the official programme.
- We open and manage apprenticeship centres in the form of:
- production workshops for handicrafts
- pedagogical farms for livestock rearing and agriculture.
Our objective is to allow youngsters, who do not want or cannot continue their studies, to achieve decent living conditions through professional training.
-
Information and Health Care
- We organise information campaigns on hygiene, birth control, baby care, vaccinations.
- We organise “health and family planning camps”.
- We open and manage dispensaries and health units to take care and follow-up medically our pupils and, as far as possible, their family.
-
Family Income Increase
- We organise microcredit programmes to help create small businesses and generate income for mothers of poorer families.
- We ensure the training for all those involved in the microcredit scheme.
-
Developing Financial Self-reliance and Capacity-building of Communities
- We want to avoid the “dependency syndrome”of the people we assist and find the necessary means by using the financial resources from our own activities.
- We ensure the provision of funds for our microcredit schemes and put to good use the interest generated by them for the community, the funding of the schools, apprenticeship and health units.
- We create for profit enterprises, such as pedagogical farms and medical store to help fund the running costs of schools, apprenticeship units and the “Health & Hygiene programme”.
