In order to diversify our action and to open up to active everyday life, we are focusing on the training through apprenticeship since the beginning of Year 2000. Associated with the education through the primary and secondary teaching, this training permits to be more aware of the direct relationship between our support to the school and our engagement to develop the financial autonomy and to show the capacity and the spirit of individuals, families and communities.

Progressively this has opened following opportunities and as per local resources, enabling the creation of training schools in preparation for either handicraft or farming.

The handicraft apprenticeship

Here main target are teenagers 15 years of age and above, who cannot or do not want to study anymore. The programme provides basic school knowledge.  This follows with training theory and practice on the actual job.

The training leads to diverse jobs linked with textiles : weaving, sewing, embroidery, batik; wood work and metal work: jewels, statues; work with leather : bags, pocket handkerchief,…

The training schools are located in urban, semi-urban and rural zones. Our objective is to provide access to young people to decent living conditions through professional training.

The farming apprenticeship

As for all the other apprenticeships, main target are teenagers 15 years old and above, who cannot or do not want to study anymore.  Basic school knowledge is programmed and put in place, same as theory training and practical training in educational farms.

The training sectors concerned are the cereal growing and vegetable market gardening, cattle, goat and sheep farming; the fish farming and the agronomic training.

The training schools are located in the educational farms in rural zones. Our objective is again to provide access to young people to decent living conditions through professional training.

First of all, these training schools allow the young people who cannot pursue their studies, to prepare themselves for the future, by having access and being able to acquire professional skills. In the long run, they contribute their knowledge, in supplying local markets with high quality products thanks to their workshops and our educational farms, which are designed as any other productive business.
